So I ended up figuring out that the product key that came in the box that was shipped from SHI only worked to access the Microsoft website and there is a different product key under my account on Microsoft's website that must be entered on the computer that has Office installed.Ĭhoose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. I was able to somehow finagle the software so that I was told the grace period would end the same day, but there is never an option to activate the software over the telephone. I was really hoping this was going to fix the issue but I'm stuck in the same loop of entering the product key but receiving the error "Sorry, we couldn't verify your product key because you're not connected to the internet. Also, I installed the software over a month ago and the grace period ended, so now I'm just stuck. The copy of Office was purchased from an online retailer, SHI, so I know it's not a fraudulent copy of the software. The only option I can select is I don't want to sign in or create an account, but when I select this I am taken back to the Enter your product key window. Try Again goes nowhere and Back takes me to a Sign in to set up Office screen with the following options. The only options I have are Try Again and Back. Please check your connection and try again. When I enter my product key I receive the following message "Sorry, we couldn't verify your product key because you're not connected to the internet. I never get prompted for phone activation. I have already called Microsoft but they were no help.
In the past with older versions of Office I was able to call a phone number to activate the product, but this does not seem to be an option for Office Is there any way to activate Office without an internet connection? I have already installed Officebut I cannot figure out how to activate the product. I'm in the process of setting up a computer that will never connect to an internet connection.
